Lee Bruce Lee Bruce was born as a fresh beginning – New Year’s Day -January 1, 1961. Born and raised on the Delmarva Peninsula, Lee arrived on the scene in Wilmington, Delaware. Her family claims its Mid-Atlantic roots from the 1670’s through the 20th century. Lee graduated from University of Delaware in 1993 . and moved to her current location in Minnesota in 1995 where she continued furthering her education. She had been accepted for admittance to several well renowned art schools, but was unable to attend. She continued to develop her techniques in what has now become her own unique style.
Drawing on her heritage (a mixture of Scot/English/Irish, Italian and Native American -- all seeming to show up in her temperament) she finds herself creating continually. She finds it impossible not to make art of some kind.
At one point in her life, she had a realization that gave her a greater understanding of how fortunate she is, being given the gifts she has been given. Failure for Lee is defined by not using those gifts to do her best in order to enable her to share with others.
The “natural world” influences her work significantly. Every conceivable [and inconceivable] idea, concept, configuration of life is present in the Universe. Lee states that, “We only need observe it to learn. My passion comes from the learning.”
